As a gunner and operator of needle guns that looks like a rust stain from surface flow.

The homes I'm seeing in the video are built up above the water. Still, there was probably damage.

Looks good despite a massive Hurricane that just passed through there. "Just park that off the coast of Venezuela" start putting this item to work absolutely as it did have a specific job back in the day.

Perhaps the heavy rain got down inside the ship and was pumped out?

BB Texas knew how to bring a world of hurt before it was cool..... Few days after D-day the troops moved out of her gun range, so they flooded half the ballast to tilt the ship and low and behold the US troops where back in range for her fire support... LOL.. Gotta love how the US Battleship knows how to get the job done and no hostile is safe with them around....

its just rust runoff from the old rusty pipes, the paint is fine underneath, honesty could probably get that stuff off with a power washer and scrubber

Safe travels sir. I believe that rust patch is from a deck drain. I believe you in Texas have had some heavy rains within the last week or so.

Yes I agree too much there for deck drain, has to be a bilge issue and not one of concern I would think..

I'm thinking that is bilge pump discharge. Not comforting.

Its just a stain on the hull, the rust comes from the inside of the drain pipes.

Personally I’d rather she be operational as a tour-ship, and do promotional tours for those that can be a part of the restoration. Replace the boilers, rudder; propellers, open up the galley and serve chow. Get her steam up, and cruise the coast line. But I’m told she’ll have to be towed and stay in place. In case we need to get ready for War; then there’s nothing like having a Texas National Navy!

Fairly certain that's the bilge drain. The hull isn't already rusting, it's just stained with rusty water. There is no way that industrial paint has failed that fast.

Now they've spent part of the projected $75 million restoration they just need a place to put it.

Thankyou for doing this shame the BTF did no videos of the restoration just a bit here and there which is highly disappointing indeed they missed a huge opportunity to raise the profile and revenue for the museum from a world wide ordinance for such an historic vessel.

Until they legally make u stop, Thank you for making these. I’m 53 and disabled but I remember taking picnics at SanJacinto monument and the USS Texas when I was a kid. Just seeing’s her brings back memories. Don’t know why the visitation committee is having a cow over videos. There’s nothing like being there, going inside the ship. Which you go down but 2 decks cause of water damage and that was mid 70’s. I can give you the main reason, REVENUE LOSS! Worried they are gonna miss a dollar. If anything it’ll bring dollars, hell it’s free advertising! Again Thanks
